Scope
This policy describes how Christian Gap Year Association (“CGYA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information through https://bestchristiangapyear.org. It does not govern the independent websites or practices of member programs or other third parties linked from this site.
Information you provide
If you use the contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, inquiry type, message, and confirmation that CGYA may use the information to respond. The form does not enroll you in marketing email or SMS messages.
You may also contact us directly by email. Information sent by email is handled through the email services used by CGYA.
Analytics and your preferences
Google Analytics remains off unless you select “Allow analytics.” If allowed, Google Analytics helps us understand site usage, such as pages viewed and general interaction patterns. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, advertising user data, and Google Signals are disabled.
The site stores your analytics choice in your browser’s local storage under cgya_analytics_consent. You can revisit your choice at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the footer. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the site.
How we use information
We may use information collected through this site to:
- respond to questions and requests;
- operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
- understand site usage when analytics consent has been granted; and
- meet legal, security, or operational obligations.
Service providers
Netlify hosts the website and processes contact-form submissions for CGYA. Submission notifications are routed to CGYA’s designated email account. Google provides analytics only after affirmative consent. These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Sharing and sale of information
CGYA does not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that support the website and communications, when directed or authorized by you, or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or maintain site security.
Retention and security
Contact submissions are retained in CGYA’s Netlify account and related email systems for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal or operational requirements. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You may decline analytics or change your analytics preference through “Cookie Settings.” To ask about information you submitted, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy question, email info@bestchristiangapyear.org. Applicable law may provide additional rights depending on where you live.
Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and CGYA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

The site links to member programs, publications, social platforms, and other independent websites. CGYA does not control their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. Review the policies of any third-party site you visit.
Policy changes
CGYA may update this policy as the website or its practices change. Changes are effective when posted unless a later date is stated, and the posted revision date will indicate the latest version.
