Program Eligibility

Program providers are eligible to become CGYA Member Programs if they:

  • Are a nonprofit Christian organization with a gap year or gap semester program serving students between the ages of 17 and 24
  • Engage students in spiritual formation, discipleship, biblical worldview training, and including experiential learning opportunities that work to deepen practical, professional, and personal formation
  • Meet all Program Standards set by the CGYA
  • Have students who are self-selecting (i.e., whose enrollment has not been mandated by parents, counselors, medical professionals, or law enforcement professionals)
  • Can provide proof of proper insurance and registration
  • Have an official risk management plan
  • Have made the following organizational information publicly available on their website:
    • Purpose statement
    • Program outcomes
    • Statement of faith
    • Student policies and expectations
    • Anticipated fees and costs, including academic enrollment options and tuition
    • Eligibility Criteria – What must be true about an applicant to be eligible for admittance

We will gather key information about your organization, your program, and your ideal participant as a foundation for the review process. We will follow up with a request for digital docs that support program eligibility. Once that step is done, a team member will schedule a web conference to interview your core team.
