Program Description

Trust in the Lord…

Waypoint is a year-long enrichment program for young adults ages 17-22. Participants study God’s word and serve in various areas of the conference.

Every journey has a point when one must take time to assess their direction. As wise travelers look ahead and plan their course, they prepare for the next place to reassess: a waypoint.

Through college-level courses, mentorship, and practical application, Waypoint strives to equip young adults to see God’s will for their lives by:

  • building a spiritual foundation,
  • discovering giftedness,
  • and determining the next step in living out God’s will.

The Bible often refers to our lives as a journey or path. Proverbs 3:5-6 promises that God will direct our courses, but not without placing clear responsibilities on us.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Studies

Studies include online courses on the Bible and personal life from Cairn University. Students are guided through courses in-person by our staff members.

Additional courses are taught by professionals in their field in addition to various seminars focused on leadership and personal development.

Mentorship

Waypoint also includes personal, gender-specific mentorship by mature believers as well as service in ministry opportunities.

Kim Russo, girls’ mentor, is a certified massage therapist who has had her own business. She is married to our food service director Mike Russo, and they have three kids. Kim loves Jesus and dancing. Link to podcast episode featuring Kim: Audacy

Mike Caçoilo, guys’ mentor, is a counselor and was a pastor for 11 years. He is married to our Waypoint and office director Lynn Caçoilo and they have three kids. Mike loves Jesus and weight-lifting. Link to sermon by Mike: YouTube
